Welcome to my new and improved site. My name is Todd Thorpe and I am the lead pastor at First Baptist Church, Ashford, Al. I am the husband to my beautiful wife, Shelly Thorpe. Shelly and I were married June 28, 1997 and we currently have 4 wonderful children. Jackson and Reagan are 8 years old, they are twins. Kennedy is 7 years old, and Davis is 4 years old. We named our children after Presidents because it was different and we like those names. Currently we are homeschooling and we absolutely love it.
I am a follower of Christ. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 13. However, I did not really start following Him until I was 22. My journey is filled with ups and downs, some good days, some bad days. My goal is to know and love Jesus just a little more each day.
I am lead pastor at FBC Ashford in Ashford, Al. Ashford is located 8 miles east of Dothan, Al. It is a rural town population 2000(maybe). Our church is doing really well. It is a great church and I am so thankful God has given me the opportunity to lead and pastor here. I am a big fan of leadership. I believe that everything rises and falls on leadership.
I hope to write everyday on my blog about following Christ, leadership, church, and any other things that pop up that day. I want to encourage you in your journey through this blog. I hope to encourage pastors in their leadership to “fight the good fight”, to not give up or give in. I want to encourage pastors to lead with passion and integrity.
